The complete guide to online pitch events for querying authors

In 2026, there is more than one way to query your novel!

Online pitch events via social media platforms like X, BlueSky, Threads, and Instagram are on the rise. In fact, pitch events are where most of my agent requests have come from!

When I first started querying, I thought Query Tracker and Manuscript Wishlist were the only avenues, but after finding out about online pitch events, I was hooked.

That being said, after one finished, I would immediately scour socials for the next. It felt like I was on a scavenger hunt for the next online pitch event....SO, I put together this guide to help you find and participate in online pitch events!

What's an online pitch event?

Pitch events are sponsored by a literary agent/a team of agents or authors and are a way to pitch your work in progress, query-ready manuscript, or even a published manuscript to literary agents, editors, and publishers!

What does a pitch event require me to do?

Usually, post your one-sentence hook, your comps, and create graphics that entice agents to read more! You can see some of my online pitches here:

What are the benefits of participating?

Agents and editors peruse pitches in real time, often "liking" or hearting your post, which means they'd like you to message them for a special Query Tracker link to query them. Sometimes they will direct message you or comment on your post as well to provide the QT link.

You also get to share your work with other authors who hype you up, comment, and, if you're lucky, repost your pitch to get more eyes on it! It's a fun community-building experience.

Without further ado, here are all the online pitch events I've either participated in or heard of. In the comments, feel free to add ones I may not have heard about! I will keep this resource updated, so bookmark it.
